This year the McFarland Family Festival
will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary on October 2-4, 2009.
We would love to have you share your
memories of the Festival with us through e-mails, letters, or photos
that we can incorporate into our twenty-fifth annual event. And if you
are interested in organizing the return of some of these events, contact
us today!
The alcohol-free Family Festival was started in 1985
by what was then the McFarland Business Association (later to become the
Chamber of Commerce). It was a way for them to show appreciation to the
community. When the Festival outgrew its Chamber sponsorship, the
not-for-profit McFarland Family Festival, Inc. was created in 2003 to
continue the event.
The Festival Board is seeking broad
support from McFarland residents of all ages to come meet each other and
help celebrate who we are as a community. Many volunteers
are needed to help plan and carry out dozens of activities.
